Cairns Hockey is super excited to announce our new Development and Competitions Manager, Jakob Stennett.
Jakob arrived in Cairns in January 2023, coming from a small country town in south west Victoria called Warrnambool, enjoying what Cairns has to offer ever since.
Jakob joined his local school hockey team whilst in year 7 and this created the opportunity to play for the Vic Stixs (now known as Vic Country) side for back to back years. Jakob was a part of the schools state carnival ambitions for the next 5 years consecutively. Whilst joining through the school program, Jakob played locally for the next 8 years and loved every minute of it. His highlights – winning premierships, and creating memories with his teammates.

Jakob is a popular familiar face with some of our members, and we are sure they will be just as hyped as we are that he is joining our community in January 2024.
